75 films, 40 filmmakers: The Nitte International Film Fest is back in Mangaluru

Mangaluru’s third edition of the Nitte International Film Festival, hosted by the Nitte University, will be held for four days from April 8 to 11 this year.

The festival has curated a total of 75 films in different languages including Hindi, Tulu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Portuguese and French this year and will see about 40 filmmakers from across the country in attendance

Ram’s ‘Peranbu’ revolves around the father-daughter dynamics, a single father tries to raise his daughter, who has cerebral palsy; even as she is beginning to wake up to her sexuality. Ram builds into his screenplay—divided into several chapters, named after the many moods of nature— a variety of incidents that merely add up to the father’s struggles as he tries to cope with the mood swings of a growing girl, her menstrual dilemmas and even her sexual urges. From indies to National Award winners: Mangaluru's student run international film festival begins

National Award winning films like 'Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum', 'To Let' and others will be screened.

The second edition of the Nitte International Film Festival (NIFF), which is reportedly Mangaluru’s only international film festival, kickstarted on Monday at the Bharath Cinemas in Bharath Mall. Several eminent film personalities from across the country will attend the 4-day festival which aims to showcase critically acclaimed cinema and create a platform for filmmakers and viewers to interact.

Mangaluru, Apr 24: Hundreds of cine lovers from Mangaluru and outskirts turned up for the maiden International Film festival (NIFF) organised by Nitte University on Monday, April 24.

The Nitte International Film Festival was inaugurated at Bharath Cinemas here in Mangaluru by the National award winning Marathi Director Mr Sunil Sukhtankar. Dr M Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor of Nitte University presided over the function.

Mangaluru, Apr 25: Hundreds of cine lovers from Mangaluru and outskirts turned up for the maiden International Film festival (NIFF) organised by Nitte University on Monday, April 24.

The Nitte International Film Festival was inaugurated at Bharath Cinemas here in Mangaluru by the National award winning Marathi director Sunil Sukhtankar. Dr M Shantharam Shetty, pro chancellor of Nitte University presided over the function.

The film festival was declared open by the eminent guests by flipping the 'clapboard' which is an important property in every film production.
