Prof. Raviraj Kini - HOD

Raviraj, a true academician at heart, has the know-hows of transforming classroom lectures into practical exercises in tangent to the demands of the industry. Spanning over 8 years of teaching proficiency in multitude of disciplines but not limited to New Media, Photography, Graphic Design & Computer Applications, Information and society, Film Theory & Criticism and more, he has the required technical knowledge and contemporary industry networking to back the syllabus and provide students meticulous information.

He has several feathers to his cap including his grip over ideation for various scripting and direction work for video works of different kinds to few other publications in his name to incubating and executing workshops and seminars. He has briefly represented various contours of India and its media scenario at Volda College University, Norway. He has to his credit; several focused research dissertations topics under his guidance and have also served as a member of Board of Study at different institutes. In his administrative responsibilities he has successfully served under many titles including Coordinator of International Film festivals and International Communication Festivals. Apart from his academic work, he has personal project lined under his belly from writing books to coordination over others.

Ms. Wilma Serrao - Assistant Professor

Along with two years of teaching experience in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication, Ms Wilma Serrao has also worked as a Journalist for three years in Mangalore.

Having a Post Graduate degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies (MCMS) from St Aloysius College, she has specialised in Broadcast Communication including Radio and Television Production, Online Journalism and Human Rights Journalism.

She has rendered her service as Asst Professor at St Xaviers College, Goa. She has a credit of conducting short term course on Radio Production for public in Goa.

She has presented research papers on media at various National Conferences.

Anjali Alva - Assistant Professor

Anjali Alva has completed her Masters in Communication and Media Studies at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore with Corporate Communication as specialization.

Her first stint as PRO in Father Muller Charitable Institutions has laid a firm foundation in Public Relation- effectively conducting public health care programmes and publicizing the effectiveness of the scheme in a general public. First experience as a lecturer is obtained at St. Philomena College, Puttur by establishing the Journalism Department for the first time.

Her training in leadership and communication has enabled her to exhibit confidence and also helped her to improve the competencies that are necessary for performing as a leader and a communicator. The expressions of capabilities to work and above all the refined attitude has helped her to improve the work environment.

Anisha Nishanth Shetty - Assistant Professor

Mrs Anisha has 8 years of teaching experience in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication. She Completed MS Communication from Christ University, Bengaluru and she is specialized in the area of Communication Research, Communication Theories, Print and Media Laws. Also pursuing Doctoral Degree in Mysore University under the guidance of Dr Niranjana Vanalli in the area of Journalism Education in India.

She has Served in the DOS in Communication and Journalism, University of Mysore for 2 years. Also Served as Head of Department of Journalism in Besant Womens College from 2009 to 2013 and one year at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan as Adjunct Faculty for the Post Graduate Diploma Course in Mass Communication.

She is the Recipient of the award Junior research fellowship (JRF) from UGC and also Cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) in the year 2011 conducted by UGC.

She has Edited the book Media ethics and Practices”, published research articles in Journals and presented research papers at national and international conferences.

Rohan Da Costa - Assistant Professor

Rohan has a Master Degree in Mass Communication from School of Communication, Manipal specialising in Broadcast Media in 2016.

He has also gained experience of working as an Asst. Director and Graphic Designer for an independent Production House- Green Earth Pictures in Mumbai. During this tenure he has worked on Documentary film making and Broadcast related activities on various subjects.

Having worked as a Media Executive for the Centre for Responsible Tourism in Goa, he has also dedicated himself in teaching differently able children and also produced documentaries and campaign videos for the department CRT.

Photography being his forte, he has worked on candid, landscape and product photography projects in Goa, Manipal, Mumbai.

Ms. Kiran Thingalaya - Advertising and PR

A Copywriter by profession and a postgraduate in communication by qualification, Kiran has been a part of the advertising world for the past ten years.

A gold medalist from Mangalore University, her strengths are in the areas of brand building and brand promotion. Was part of the team that worked on campaigns for nationally known brands. Is with NICO as adjunct faculty, sharing with students, her understanding of Indian advertising.
